Yellowstone Grizzlies
The south entrance to Yellowstone opened on Friday, so I rambled up there today. Having the south entrance open makes the trip a lot easier. I’m glad I did; I saw a total of 6 grizzlies. I didn’t get anything especially noteworthy as far as pictures are concerned, but it is always great to see some bears. The bears in the first two pictures were feeding on and fighting over a carcass in the Firehole River. They were right in the middle of some geothermal features.
This sow had two cubs; the second of which is cut off in the upper left of the picture. I was surprised to see them near Craig Pass where there was still 5′ of snow in most places.
