Otters

While fishing Soda Butte Creek in Yellowstone, this otter family swam up and played in the water. I have only seen river otters a few times and have never been able to photograph them, so this was a treat.

Stars

Yesterday night I rambled up into the park in hopes of catching some of the Perseid meteors. Unfortunately I was ill-prepared; I had forgotten to make sure all of my batteries were fully charged. The couple of shots I was able to get before the batteries died are rather lackluster.

Teton Stars

The five or six brightest trails in the top right are from the Big Dipper. The glow over the Tetons is likely from the towns of Victor and Driggs in Idaho.

Storm

This evening after work I was doing some fishing when I noticed the storm clouds starting to build. I cut the fishing short and raced back to the sagebrush flats in Teton Park in hopes of getting some lightning shots.

Lightning

Photographing lightning involves quite a bit of luck. All you can do is point the camera in the direction of the lightning and hope that it flashes within the frame.

Grand Teton Sunset

This was the sunset over the southern Tetons as the storm moved northeast.
