Posted in Landscapes on August 12th, 2009 by Andrew B. – Be the first to commentYesterday night I rambled up into the park in hopes of catching some of the Perseid meteors. Unfortunately I was ill-prepared; I had forgotten to make sure all of my batteries were fully charged. The couple of shots I was able to get before the batteries died are rather lackluster.
The five or six brightest trails in the top right are from the Big Dipper. The glow over the Tetons is likely from the towns of Victor and Driggs in Idaho.
Storm
Posted in Landscapes on August 4th, 2009 by Andrew B. – Be the first to commentThis evening after work I was doing some fishing when I noticed the storm clouds starting to build. I cut the fishing short and raced back to the sagebrush flats in Teton Park in hopes of getting some lightning shots.
Photographing lightning involves quite a bit of luck. All you can do is point the camera in the direction of the lightning and hope that it flashes within the frame.
This was the sunset over the southern Tetons as the storm moved northeast.
